Online deposits for hotels and B&Bs
After you confirm availability, the guest pays the deposit by card. Payment is processed through Stripe; Hostnest does not store card details.
The problem with deposits handled by hand
If deposits arrive as scattered bank transfers, screenshots, or different instructions for each enquiry, you waste time matching who paid to which quote. Hostnest keeps the deposit in the same flow as the enquiry and the quote.
Connecting payments with Stripe
The property connects its own Stripe account to Hostnest. Hostnest is not Stripe: it is the software that starts checkout and updates payment status. The guest pays on Stripe-hosted checkout, by card.
The guest pays by card, without an account
After you confirm availability, the guest opens the quote link and pays the online deposit. They do not need a Hostnest account. Bank transfer is not currently available in the Hostnest deposit flow.
Payment status and booking confirmation
When payment succeeds, the status updates and the booking can be confirmed. In Hostnest you can see whether the deposit is pending, succeeded, or failed, tied to the enquiry and quote it came from.
What stays with the property
The remaining balance stays with you, outside this flow. There are no invented bank guarantees and no “zero risk”: Hostnest organises the enquiry, quote, and card deposit, with a variable management fee applied when you collect through the platform.

No subscription. You pay a variable management fee only when you collect the deposit through Hostnest.
